PLANNING

• Provides professional staff support to the City Council, Planning Commission, and Historical Commission; 
• Processes Conditional Use Permits, Zoning Variances and Amendments, and subdivision plan maps;
• Reviews proposed development plans;
• Assists the City's redevelopment efforts by undertaking specific planning tasks; 
• Administers the City's historic preservation program; 
• Supports the Finance Department concerning business licensing issues;
• Respond to citizen's inquiries about planning, code enforcement, and historic preservation; and
• Acts as liaison to the County Department of Animal Care and Control and the County Health and Environmental Services Department.
