MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF

Welcome to the San Fernando Police Department's web pages. I hope you find the information they contain useful and that they answer all your questions regarding our department and the services we offer.

In San Fernando, we have a long history of providing a high level of police services to the members of our community. Our philosophy is simple; when someone calls our department for help we solve their problem or put the caller in contact with someone who can. A member of our department will answer every call for service, whether that caller is complaining about a barking dog, an abandoned vehicle, or a crying baby.

I have always believed that if residents and visitors feel and are safe from violence and crime, a community will thrive. The same is true for the smallest town and the largest city. Police Departments are most effective when they work in partnership with residents, business, schools, religious organizations, neighborhoods, and other governmental services. In San Fernando, we fully embrace the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing, in which the local police and the community work together to solve problems regarding crime, fear of crime, and neighborhood decay.

The San Fernando Police Department recognizes and values the diverse and unique contributions made by every member of our community. We take pride in the reports that we receive from our community about the high level of satisfaction they have with the services we provide. It is my sincere belief that working together as a community, we can make a difference in our city, neighborhoods, and schools. Together, we can continue to keep San Fernando a wonderful and safe place to live, work, and visit.
