Project Description
This exciting new project will bring major improvements to Maclay
Avenue from First Street to Eighth Street making Maclay Avenue a
more inviting and pedestrian friendly destination. The project is
designed to bring more shoppers to the area, create a safer environment
for pedestrians, and provide an overall beautification of the streetscape.
- Question: When will the project begin, and how long will
it take to complete?
- Answer: The project is scheduled to start March 2007 and
is expected to take approximately 9 months.
- Question: What areas of the City will be affected by
the project?
- Answer: The project includes Maclay Avenue between First
Street to Eighth Street. The work will be done in segments
in order to minimize impacts to pedestrians and vehicle traffic.
- Question: Will businesses still be open during the construction
phase?
- Answer: Yes! The City is committed towards minimizing any
impacts to businesses during the construction phase.
- Question: Where will I park?
- Answer: The entire length of Maclay Avenue will not be
closed at any given time and side street parking will also
be available. New signage will be used to direct traffic
to alternative parking when necessary.

Este nuevo proyecto traerá grandes mejoramientos a la Avenida
Maclay empezando en la Calle Primera hasta la Calle Octava, para
hacer la Avenida Maclay un destino más agradable y accesible
para los peatones. El proyecto esta diseñado para atraer más
compradores al área, crear un ambiente mas seguro para peatones,
y para proporcionar un embellecimiento general de la avenida.
- Pregunta: ¿Cuándo empezará el proyecto
y cuánto tomará para completar?
- Respuesta: El proyecto está programado para empezar
en marzo de 2007 y se espera que tome aproximadamente 9 meses.
- Pregunta: ¿Qué áreas de la ciudad
serán afectadas por el proyecto?
- Respuesta: El proyecto incluye la Avenida Maclay entre
la Calle Primera a la Octava. El trabajo se hará en
segmentos para reducir el impacto a peatones y el tráfico
vehicular.
