San Fernando Regional Pool Facility
Project Overview:The San Fernando Regional Pool project has been organized into two phases:
The general nature of the work consists of construction of a regional aquatic center to include the construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. two-story support facility consisting of lobby, offices, dressing room, classroom, locker rooms, multipurpose room, utility and mechanical rooms, storage and vertical circulation. The project will also include site work, swimming pool decking, landscaping, and shade structures.
Not included under this contract are the three (3) bodies of water consisting of: a new 50m x 25yd. competition pool with 3m and 1m diving boards, a 4,000 sq foot instructional pool with recreational slide, and a 1,000 sq. ft. “splash area”. The General Contractor awarded the contract under this invitation to bid will be required to coordinate it’s scope of work with the Swimming Pool Contractor.

- Instructional Pool with 20’ high 3-loop slide: 4,313 s.f.
- Splash area with water plan features: 1,012 s.f.
Funding Provided By:
- $2.7 million - State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, Murray-Hayden Urban Parks and Youth Services Program, Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000.
- $3.0 million - Los Angeles County Community Development Block Grant, Section 108 Loan; repayment of the Section 108 Loan is secured by a letter of credit facilitated by First American Bank.
- $495,000 - Prop 12, Safe Neighborhood and Parks Grant, Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor, Third District
- $5,000 - Prop A, Safe Neighborhood and Parks Grant, Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor, Third District
