After School Community Enrichment Program (ASCEP)

The City of San Fernando Recreation & Community Services Department After School Community Enrichment Program (ASCEP) offers a safe environment with quality supervision. Children in grades 1st – 5th can participate in a variety of educational and enrichment activities, including a nutritional component. Qualified staff continually monitor the progress and development of the participants. The ASCEP provides educational enrichment opportunities and interpersonal skills development to boost self-image and foster self-esteem.

On-site ASCEP is available to students attending San Fernando Elementary, O’Melveny Elementary, Gridley Elementary, and Morningside Elementary. Applications may be picked up and returned to the student’s school office during regular school hours. Registration is year round.

Teens Learning for the Future Program

This program is designed to help prepare teens for employment in the Recreation Field. The program will cover the interview process to the daily duties of the Recreation Leader. The teen will be required to attend training sessions that are held throughout the week. Completion of the training does not guarantee employment with the City of San Fernando.
